Cold Pressed Oil

Extracting oil through cold-pressing includes crushing the seeds or nuts and forcing out the oil. The seeds are move downward inside a stainless steel cylinder that contains a rotating screw. This screw crushes the seeds until the oil is extracted. Small holes in the bottom of the cylinder let the oil to escape into a collection container.

Some heat is generated through pressing and grinding the seeds, it’s generally not enough heat to damage the oil. The temperature should not rise above 49°C (120°F) for any oil to be considered cold pressed.

Cold pressed oil may be the healthier. Because conventionally oil making process causes to the heat and chemical modification of the structure.

In conventional extraction, seeds are heated to very high temperatures, sometimes up to 230°C (around 450°F), which replaces their chemical structure. Also the procedure is made with chemicals like hexane solvent which can cause health problems.
