Surfactants

Surfactants are for the foaming, cleaning and degreasing effects of a shampoo. Conventional surfactants such as sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, cocamide DEA and ammoniumxyleensulfonaat the potential for hardness, strip away fatty acids.

Natural surfactants such as decyl glucoside, sucrose cocoate, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, and sodium lauroamphoacetate should not foam as a conventional product, but your hair will still be just as clean.

Preservatives

The main function of preserving a long shelf life. None are really benign. Conventional preservatives such as iodopropynyl butylcarbamate and parabens tend to be stronger, more allergenic and irritating potential.

Natural preservatives such as potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and alcohol milder.

Color

In the basic shampoos, the color is added only for decorative purposes. Conventional colorants are often added, but need a shampoo function at all. Most natural brands do not even use dyes at all!
